Tallanganda State Forest / National Park

This trip idea kinda came about this morning, after sitting in a cafe with my mate Rob, watching it pour down and thinking how wet the eastern ACT tracks would be (with Bendethera being a big no no). Both of us have some new toys to test, so we thought we'd keep it local, as we might be limping back to town.

Heading to Tallaganda NP/SF for some fun in the mud I guess. Nothing too technical, but for one side firetrail (optional)... will be good just to get the cars dirty and do an easy 3/4 day trip. 80% of this would be Standard X-trail friendly... as a mate did it in his early 2000 Subaru Forester.

Hopefully we can get some fellow ACT X-trailers... you can bail at lunch, and be home by 1pm... I hope to be home in West Belconnen before 5pm.

Meet: Hoskinstown: Corner of Hoskinstown Rd and Forbes Creek Rd (about 40 mins from Civic)
http://goo.gl/maps/B9KtB
Time: 9am
Date: Sunday 30 June 2013

The plan:
Do the 100km loop by finishing up at Captains Flat, and head back to Canberra (45-55 mins Fyshwick)
http://www.exploroz.com/TrekNotes/NSW/Tallaganda_National_Park.aspx

Lunch - BYO. Stopping at the Waterwheel (which from memory is 2WD accessible)

I've got suitably rated recovery equipment... just bring a sense of fun (and potentially a change of clothes/shoes if its muddy!)

Participants
Konazz (Michael / modified T31)
Rob (Konazz's mate / modified BT-50)
emjayar (Michael / Modified T30)

Tentatives

For those coming along, I'll PM you my mobile number closer to the date. Or catch me on UHF26.

Hi Michael, its never a long drive if there is mud involved lol.

However i will have to say no for this one as my brother is working and I have a very ill family member in hospital.
Have a great time and post some pics up for all of us.
Safe driving.

Re: Tallanganda State Forest / National Park

Damn my missus, if she wasn't on-call this w/end, I'd be in it with bells on!
Been wanting to see what this x-trail is really capable of, but can never get organised with mates who have proper 4bys, this would've been an excellent opportunity emoticon
Will keep my eyes peeled for future 'fun' runs emoticon

Have fun, should be some good mud around emoticon
