Re:
Hi Jeff,
In Photobucket the code box is referred to as "IMG Thumb", so that's the one you need to select and get the copy of the code exactly as it is without adding and/or removing anything. Just copy it across to your post and a thumbnail of the photo would appear.
Give it a go.

Re: Try Your Forum Skills Here (Test Ground)
Jeff,
When I click "reply" to a post or click to create a new post, the photbucket access panel appears on the RHS of the forum screen. From here you can browse your PC storage areas for pics to upload to photobucket as well as view the pics that are already in your photobucket albums. Under each of my photos that I see is the word "zoom".
I click on the word "zoom" under the photo that I want to share on the forum post. The photo opens up in a new TAB. On the RHS of the open photo there are links that you can use to share your photo. Against each link is the URL link that is associated with that photo.
Below is listed the available links that I can see associated with my open pic. (The associated URLs are not shown.)
Links to share this photo
Email & IM
Direct
HTML
HTML thumb
IMG
IMG thumb
The link to use is the "IMG thumb" What I do is move the cursor
(using the laptop touchpad) onto the actual URL associated with the "IMG thumb" and then click once on that URL. You will see that the word "COPIED" appears in place of the URL.
I now go back to the Forum TAB page and move the cursor into a vacant section of the reply/post window. I then press "Ctrl" then "V" at the same time.
A rather lengthy link URL (associated with the copied photo) is added. You do not change anything in this URL.
To test whether an expandable image thumb has been added to your post simply click on the "Preview" button. Your photo thumb should appear in the post and you can click it to ensure that it expands OK.
If all OK, then you can then click on the "Submit Reply" button to submit...that is of course after adding any words before or after your photo URL. Remember, do not alter the URL in any way.
I hope this explanation helps and I know it is a bit long winded but it should work for you as it does fo me.
chers
