Re:

When I brought the Navara I was told that as long as I serviced the car from the same dealership (might be any Nissan dealership) that I will get the 6year warranty without having to pay any other money.
The minute I get the car serviced elsewhere the extra 3 years are void.

Re:

That's correct Tony and if you read the fine print of what this dealer warranty covers compared to the actual Nissan Australia extended warranty, it's not much at all.

Re:

The Extra Drive Nissan Australia warranty only goes for an additional 3 years maximum, so the dealer is trying to lock you down into servicing your car with them by giving you the added 3 years dealer warranty plus the 3 years Nissan warranty.

I reckon you have plenty of time to decide if you want to take the Nissan extra drive extended warranty, as it can be purchased anytime within the first 3 years of you buying a new car and Nissan always runs a special on it in terms of its price.

The dealer extended warranty was given to me for free when I bought my Series 4 exy, I wouldn't have paid a cent for it.

Re: Extending the Warranty Should I do it

Hi Jalal
I checked this and they didn't say it was an extra 3 years dealer warranty - they said it was the Nissan Extended warranty.

Either way I'll be saying no to buying it now, and also no the the "Premium Paint Package".

I was really happy with the service of the salesman, but (predictably) disappointed with the patronising way in which they tried to sell me the paint protection and rust protection stuff etc.

Cheers
Mark

Re:

You didn't need to have an extended warranty for the engine replacement, as the new consumer laws would have kicked in and forced Nissan to rectify a faulty product that is not fit for purpose.

Re:

I wouldn't bothyer paying a cent for the Nissane xtended warranty, as Nissan are obligated to fix a faulty product regardless of your warranty status. That's what the new consumer law states and the Dept. of fair trading is on the look out for any breaches.
