Seven Mile Beach - Lennox Head, Saturday Feb 9th
Hi,
Calling all SEQ and Northern NSW members for a beach run on Seven Mile Beach - Lennox Head on Saturday Feb 9th.
The beach access is 5 min drive behind Lake Ainsworth in Lennox Head.
The BOM indicates a Low of 0.16 meters is at 1400, so 12.00Pm would be a great time to hit the sand.
I have never been there before, but from the info gathered on the Internet it's a straight drive down the beach for about 8.5km. I basically thought it would be nice to explore the beach, decide on a picnic stop where we can have lunch followed by a swim / surf or any other activity. You are encouraged to bring your beach toys (kids and adult toys that is).
Driving on the beach requires a permit which you can purchase at Lennox Caltex Service Station, Byron Street, Lennox Head. Permits can also be purchased at two other locations in Ballina. The cost is:
Annual Permit $60.00
Six Month Permit $36.00
30 Day Permit $25.00
Meeting point will be at 11.00am at the Caltex Service Station, Byron Street, Lennox Head.
We can purchase our permit and then head into the beach access, lower our tier pressure and start our day.
Possibly after exiting the beach we can go for another swim at Lake Ainsworth. For the members who are not familiar with Lake Ainsworth, its waters are dark due to the tea tree growing on its banks.
