Re: Re:

Make a paper or cardboard template for your vehicles underparts you wish to protect.

Use a nibbler to cut it out from sheet metal of the type and thickness desired.

Add further slots and cut-outs for bulgy bits, ventilation and drainage.

Use a vice to form the folds or take it to someone to make folds along your marked lines.

Drill holes corresponding to the mount points on the vehicle.

Voila! A bash plate hand made to fit your car.

It will take time and effort but very little money to do all that, so it all comes down to personal cost/benefit as to which path you would rather pursue.

Re: T31 bash plates (Full Undercarriage Protection Set)

Hi Guys,

Good news!

I just received confirmation from the manufacturer that the shipment of the T31 Bash Plates will be ready mid November, which means the T31 Bash Plates Full Undercarriage protection will be available in stock just before Xmas around the 20th of December or so.

Only 20 sets were imported, so reserve your set before it's too late.

Orders can be placed HERE

I can attest to the quality of the bash plates... the rear one made decent contact with the ground today in Penrose forest LOL.. the car slid along.

My front plate had a good workout on a rocky hill last weekend. Rear plate will be installed after relocating the trailer connector to inside the car. Really bad spot for the trailer connector but that's another story for another day.

Re:

Hi Helen & Nic,

Not yet, I will have an idea about the new price when the shipment is about to reach Australian shores, but I don't expect the final price to be much dearer than what the full set was being sold for before.

Please email the online shop for a price estimate and/or to reserve a set.

Re:

I too can vouch for the quality of the plates.. Tested them out on the weekend with the forum trip to Bribie. They worked a treat, helping Rex to skim over the top of the soft sand where one would usually get bogged.. (read the report on the trip report section of the forum). However you will need to keep an eye on them as the front plate can have a tendency to come loose with vibrations, but it is pretty simple to screw the bolts back in nice and tight.

While I'm here though, does anyone have any hints to stop the rear bolts on the front plate from coming undone?? I was thinking spring washers might help but any other ideas would be great.

Re: T31 bash plates (Full Undercarriage Protection Set)

Thanks Jalal,
i'll drop and email through to the shop for a quote...

can you (or anyone who has bash plates) give me a summary of the pro/cons of the different bash plates around..?

The bash plates on offer here are 2mm steel, however local 4wd shops have 3mm steel options... i was talking to a guy at work who thinks thicker = better, which makes sense as the extra weigh increase seems to be insignifricant with repect to the overall weigh...

cheers
