Cargo help

Need some advise.

We've got a massive pram and it slides around and scraps the boot plastics. Any ideas on how to secure it?

It folds in two parts see here for example. The carrier and the main part. The main part I have the wheels locked so that's fine, but the otherside where the bar is has plastic and that just moves around as you turn & brake. For the moment I've got the carrier tucked under the plastic end. The Carrier has this material stuff that seems to stop the sliding.

Anyway, first idea I had was using an occy strap and using the cargo hooks. With this method its really awesome since I can stand the pram up and it gives even more room for e.g. shopping. But then it's a pain in the ass to keep doing every time.

So I'm wondering if I should purchase the Protection Tray or Carpet Mat.

I'm assuming that this would be similar problem not just for prams but other things.

Re: Cargo help

Hi Joey, I had a similar problem with the dogs sliding all round the back of the car so I went to a carpet place and they cut and fitted an off-cut for 30 bucks.

Problem solved.

Re:

Have you tried flipping the pram upside down so the wheel are at the top? If you have a cargo mat the pram won't move as much but the wheels have to be up.

Re: Cargo help

I bought a piece of fatigue matting from Clark Rubber. Was around $40 from memory.

You can always use a couple of ocky straps and use the luggage tie down points.

Thanks for the advise!

Flipping the pram has the same issue with it sliding around.
I think I'll try out the carpet solution since I've got two dogs that'll eventually jump in the back too. Will need to see about the Cargo Barrier but I'll check out other threads for that.

Will head down to Clark Rubber & some carpet places and see what I can get.

Re: Cargo help

I avoided carpet because I have dogs. Don't fancy vacuuming pieces of carpet. The fatigue matting can be hosed with the karcher.

Re:

Good point.

This evening just did shopping with the pram, used the occy straps worked a treat and had plenty of room for a month of shopping. Although it would be great to have either the rubber/carpet to stop little things from moving around.

I might try an anti fatigue mat first, simply because I can re-use it in the garage if I don't like it.

Re:

Hi Joey,

From your photo, it looks like we have the same pram. We have the strider plus, 3-wheel version. I have a rubber protection tray that came as an extra when I bought my T31. I normally put the frame in first then place the capsule part on top. That leaves room for groceries next to the pram.

If I'm driving around without groceries, I put the capsule next to the frame which prevents it from sliding around.

When we've gone on big drives we stand the pram up on its side then load the luggage in the boot to stop it from falling over. We also have 2 dogs (Kelpie and a Blue Heeler) and the shed like anything. I like the rubber protection mat because if they have an accident in the car, then I simply grab the whole tray, take it out and hose it, let it dry and put it back in. Not that I've had to do that just yet... touch wood !

Re:

Ah thanks for that. It's a good point I found an ebay store that sells it for $90 (rear protection tray) is it cheaper anywhere else?

I've got the 4 wheeler stroller. Is this how you strap it up? and where do you put the capsule?
