Re:

I don't think the Provent is doing anything for you as this sounds to be the rear crank seal.
They don't have a front one.

What I would do immediately is pressure clean or degrease the entire engine, top and bottom, go for a 10km drive and then have a look at where the oil is dripping from.

Have you checked the oil level in the engine?

Let us know how you go.

Re:

thx for your reply bro
yesterday evening (at the parking) thare was no chanse to wait to check the oil level. when i turned the engine ON before evening trip display showed "oil ok" and according small oil drop under car i decided not to check level manually.
i hope that in an 1-2 hour ill check it again.
how i have to di pressure cleaning? i have to go to service to take my X up to clean it from downside. i will post photos here for you can check place of leackage.
i just want to understand why provent instalation coinceded whith that kind of leakage... in this life there are no accidents and everything is interconnected as i think...

more over does someone can let me understand of work principe of CG-valve? can it be deinstalled and revisioned and cleaned.
as i understand oil leaks from that seal coz of CG high preassure, that means that CG-valve dont through it down, but it has to. What case CG-valve has to be opened?

Re:

Might be a silly question but have you drained the oil from the Provent?
They do fill up quickly with oil if the engine is worked hard and if you forget to drain it, then the overflow of oil could be coming from your Provent.

Re: Oil on the air filter and Oil Separator Leaks (T31 Diesel)

friends... i fill myself as a looser...
in service they connected provent back-way.. so CG stopped at provent controll valve and pushed oil through seal from engine....
i added 2litres of oil to my M9R to get level back. its just luck that my villagehouse is only 30-40km to go.. if 100 i think it might be dead-engine i had.

by now i disconnect privent and installed back stock tube and im looking for seal and oil leakage from engine. its not huge and i still have drops under my X while it stands. probably it drops from agregates that was oiled while 2litres leaks. as soon as it stops dropping i will connect provent right way and take a look again.

Re: The X-Trail Diesel Saga Summary

Wow, 57 pages is a lot to get through! I've done my best to digest it all, but I must admit I had trouble following this thread at times, so I am hoping I will be forgiven for posting a question that only a moron would need to ask.

I was thinking I wanted to buy X-Trail diesel, but based on my understanding of this thread, the diesel engine that Nissan is putting in the X-Trail has some very serious problems and Nissan is not acknowledging this, nor fixing it.

Would it accurate to say that the purchase of a diesel X-Trail is NOT RECOMMENDED at this point?

I owned 2 Nissan petrol utes in Canada, and they were great trucks. Shame.

Thanks.

Re:

First of all you need to make an introduction post in the introduction section of the forum.

There is nothing wrong with the diesel engine.

Owners find it strange how oil ends up splattered on the air filter and think there is a problem with the engine.
There have been no reported blown engines which relate to this issue and have been no recalls from Nissan.
Diesel owners may argue against this point but their engines are still running and still reporting good fuel figures.
I honestly think that they are not built for Australian conditions being a Renault engine.

Re:

I've been very happy with my 08 TS over the past 3.5 years. Currently I am waiting for my TL to be built right now to replace the perfectly fine TS. (November needs to hurry up and get here already)

I'm only replacing the older one due to now being able to achieve the new TL through a fleet purchase setup and get all the new fancy extras.

I see no reason not to buy the diesel with using sensible observation of the vehilce as I would normally do with anything I drive.

All cars have their flaws, just a matter of finding out what it is 'before' you buy it preferably.

Re: Oil on the air filter and Oil Separator Leaks (T31 Diesel)

I guess in theory if you let the filter get completely clogged it could cause a back up of pressure but I dare say the hose would likely pop off before pressure built up enough to blow a seal. Maybe that's why the hose out of the engine into the provent is not clamped on at the engine end.
