Re: Oil on the air filter and Oil Separator Leaks (T31 Diesel)

Hi again!
one of russian dci Xtrail owners told that he just take the ccg tube away under the car and cap the hole in air inlet for ccg tube. he pass through 22000km from that time and no oil in air system and no other problems he had. any comments on that? What do you think?

Re:

If you do that in Australia and get caught they will throw the book at you for polluting the environment for starters.

Re:

you really shouldn't.. you can tap it into the sump but i wouldn't. I just have a long tube and a tap, and i drain the catch can every 2 weeks or 1000 kms. USually i do it when i wash the car, check tyre pressures, etc..

Re:

update from dealer

anything NON-FACTORY is BAD JOO JOO for WARRANTY.

as such, the provent has been removed even though the technician agrees it's better to have it there, but says that it is normal for all euro diesels to spit oil onto the air filter.

yea load of crap. anyway anyone know a good lawyer? my last one fell through when he realised what i was up against. I have had it with the car and the brand, and will not let them get away with my lemon of a car.

Get in contact with one of those current affairs programs if you want to get Nissan's attention.

Re: Oil on the air filter and Oil Separator Leaks (T31 Diesel)

Xtrail 76 I feel for your pain, my first ever exy started exhibiting oil spots after 1500 clicks so I sold it.
I suggest you find more people with the same issue and get them together and contact one of those tv shows together, plus there are new warranty laws that apply now.

Re: Oil on the air filter and Oil Separator Leaks (T31 Diesel)

unfortunately i am the only one with this problem and i don't know anyone with the problems i have, except for one other guy in melb who had oil leak out of timing covers, which was fixed under warranty and it's fine now. hence no point fighting them for it. i'm only suing in small claims court for income loss and inconvenience because the warranty states they have to keep fixing the car. At this stage it would have been cheaper to have replaced the engine than to have kept taking the engine and gearbox out (3 times now).
