Re: Faulty Ryco Z445 Oil Filter
Just an update on my situation...
I went to Autobarn at Mile End and they weren't aware of the issue, so I had to buy a replacement (now $20). I fitted the new one and then noticed quite a few oil spots on the driveway (even the length of it, old one was leaking enough to leave a trail as I came home).
Went to the Ryco website (thanks for the link above) and submitted a message. Got a call a couple of days later from a guy, who was very apologetic and keen to catch up with me.
He called around, explained the fault and asked what he needed to do to make it right. Ended up with an offer of half a dozen Z445s, and some degreaser for the driveway. Pretty happy with that... except that was before Australia Day, and I haven't heard from him since... He was supposed to come back that week and exchange the faulty one for the good ones.
According to his business card, he was the GUD State Manager (and it included more than one state).
So I may be using Ryco filters in future, but I don't think I'll ever buy one again.

Re:
You have recent updates in this thead stating the same problem, so it's not a matter of a bad batch it seems.
