Dimitris,

I am only guessing here as you probably can tell because there is indeed a difference between your engine type and the 2.5LT one we have here in Australia, that could well one of 3 fuses that you need to perform the quick ECU re-set, not sure why the engine bay fuse covers would be in English and the internal one in Japanese....doesn't make sense!

You would know if the quick ECU re-set worked if the check engine light goes off or if the RPM drops to its normal level (around 900RPM) if it is sitting any higher at the moment.

Re: How to Reset/Reprogram your ECU - T30 Series I & II

I got it Jalal...and thank you.!
It's no big matter now, since i do the "battery" trick i mine now..so....

I am hust joking about Japaneeze...you couldn't have known that it was like that in the inside fuse box...and i also don't understant why...!!!

When i have a problem...i start getting out every fuse to check whick is burned..to replace...
The information there it's useless...

P.S. Reading around here, i also discovered that small tool for removing the fuses!!! WOWWWW!
I am amazed!

Re: How to Reset/Reprogram your ECU - T30 Series I & II

Hi Guys,

If one changes the filter and fits some performance plugs is it necessary to reset the ECU? or does it eventually re-adjust it's self over time?

Regards,

Paul

Re:

It will eventually adjust itself over time, but you can do the quick re-set to speed-up the learning process of the ECU.

Re: How to Reset/Reprogram your ECU - T30 Series I & II

Thanks Jal....I guessed that might be the case as I did not notice any changes to the car's performance immediately after I upgrated to K & N filter and fitted Iridium Plugs, although after several days the car appeared to run smoother and a little more responsively.

Regards,

Paul

Re: How to Reset/Reprogram your ECU - T30 Series I & II

Hi 2stroke,

Most toggle switches are meant for heavier currents and higher voltages than you will find with your pedal sensors so I expect that the switch contacts are just a little worn or some oxidation has formed because the currents were not high enough to stop it.

If you get another toggle switch, making sure it is for low-level signals by having wiping contacts then you should find it will be OK again and last longer before it interferes with the signals to the ECU again.

Also, if there is a difference in the sensor impedance between the two pedals for throttle off position then that might cause some issues with the ECU on change-over which a pedal relearn should fix.
