Re: ECU reset on T31
Here are some pics I took of my T31 engine bay fuse boxes (located under the air intake pipe.
Hope they are helpful in locating the ECCS (engine computer) fuse for resetting purposes.
Ok, hope these pics all come through ok.

Re: ECU reset on T31
Thanks John,
Excellent pics!
I noticed that you put the K&N sticker on the filter box and it is a nice touch, but you also need to display the "STOP! Do not discard" sticker there for the service guys to know not to touch it. I would swap them around and have this warning sticker stuck on the filter box and the K&N sticker on the intake.

Re: ECU reset on T31
Hi Jalal, I was just in the process of editing my post to get the pictures in the right order. The steps are:
1/. Remove air cleaner pipe.
2/. Undo clips holding down rear fuse box (which was hidden under pipe)
3/. Turn it over carefully ... don't strain wire/plug connections!
4/. Locate the ECCS fuse.
5/. Remove this fuse temporarily in accordance with previously posted T30 computer reset procedure.
Please note that I elected not to reset the computer as it is now four days (or more) since I fitted the K&N air filter.
Jalal, I do have the "STOP" sticker mounted at the grill end of the pipe... it was too wide for a decent fit at the filter box itself.

Re: ECU reset on T31
T31 X-Trail Quick ECU Re-set Procedure:
For those that have recently done a performance upgrade (i.e. K&N Filter, Iridium Spark Plugs, Exhaust, etc, etc), an ECU reset/reprogram is advisable.
By performing a reset/reprogram your ECU will self adjust to give the proper air and fuel mixture for your engine which in theory will give you the best fuel economy based on your upgrades.
Here is how to do it:
1. Start up your X-Trail and allow it to warm up to its normal idle.
2. Next turn off the engine.
3. Locate the fuse box located under the bonnet and next to the battery. Pull out the ECCS (20A) fuse. Refer to the pics below. Keep the fuse out for at least 5 minutes. This will cut all power to the ECU.
Here is how to get to the fuse box housing the ECCS fuse:
4. Plug the fuse back in and close the bonnet.
5. Start your X-Trail making sure NOT TO TOUCH THE ACCELERATOR WHEN YOU START IT UP. This is very important.
6. Let the X-Trail idle at its normal idle speed for about 4 minutes, then turn off your engine.
7. Start your X-Trail again and you're done.

I read your forum & found it to most helpful.
My tail light fuse blew & without this forum I would never had been able to find it.
CONGRATULATIONS.
Good to hear Rod, you might want to edit your post as I think a lot of people would be jealous seeing that you have a 9spd auto.
