XPack extreme paint protection

G'day everyone,
Just got our new T31petrol series 4 exy in snowstorm colour a couple of days ago. We purchased {at considerable cost $1,568} the XPack paint and fabric protection as part of the whole package. The paint is treated with Titanium Oxide which is what they do with jet airliners. We were told we will never have to POLISH or WAX the car ever again {only wash it in a neutral ph quality car wash} In fact they said that if we use wax or polish it would be detrimental and potentially destroy the treatment.
Does anyone have any experience with this product and can anyone suggest the right type of carwash to use? I'm paranoid about destroying the coating if I use the wrong stuff. I searched the forum to try and find some answers but to no avail. I normally only wash a car for weddings or funerals, but I guess until the honeymoon period is over I will wash our new pride and joy everytime I see a bug on it LOL

Hi Terry,

Did you read the "fine print" of the brochure that was given to you about this paint protection? Don't forget that I bought my T31 end of June this year and was offered exactly the same thing!

Wash the car normally, but stay away from the automatic car washes, I have never used them and never will. Only use the hand-wash places, or wash it yourself. I always use Eagle One Car Wash & Polish soap and it has been perfect, dry the car with a nice chemi and you are all set.

As to "not needing to ever polish the car again" You know my view on that from the other thread and it hasn't changed emoticon

Thanks Jalal,
That puts my mind at ease. I have some of the Maguires car wash in the garage. Couldn't imagine they would make a product that would be detrimental to the paint protection offerred these days.

By the way we are very happy with the new car. I love the drive train. I am still getting used to having "real" brakes. Couple of times I have nearly launched our dog Ruby over into the front seat :}

No worries Terry and I know exactly what you mean about the awesome brakes. They certainly improved the brakes compared to the T30 I had and my kids were asking me why am braking so hard in the T31 compared to the T30 LOL emoticon

Re:

Hey Terry,

How are you found the xpack product? I also had it done to my car and yeah the whole avoiding certain products when washing it was a bit of a concern, but the dealership actually gave me a pack that included a special ph shampoo to use when washing my car and I find that when ever I use that it gives it that new car sparkle. Some people are pretty against dealership aftermarket products like these but I've always been a fan – I just don’t have the time to keep continually waxing/polishing my car so its great to have something that means my car still looks great but I don’t have to spend heaps of time and money maintaining it.
