'nother Brissy Exxy

Name: Glen Brown
Location: Brisbane
Vehicle: 2004 X-Trail T30

We purchased our X-Trail in June, 2008 with 38,000 klms. My wife & I enjoy travelling backroads and secondary roads and we wanted the extra ground clearance and enjoyment that even a 'soft-road' 4X4 can offer. We did lots of research and comparison shopping and decided that we were happy with the things that owners were saying about their X-Trails.

The vehicle is a pleasure to drive (5-speed manual), and we want to individualize it enough to make it different from the herd. Installing a chrome grille and rear license plate- surround have helped, as has a set of side graphics.

We hope to stay with the X-Trail line when it comes time to replace this machine.

I discovered this site while researching information about X-Trails and I hope that by becoming a member I might have access to the advice and experience of others, while offering my own input.

Hi Glen and partner and welcome to the forum!

If you haven't already done so; could you please click the flashing button, up the top of the page, which says Vote for our forum.;

After you do this, could you drop into the announcements section, (vote for our site) & let everyone know how we are going in the position race.

If everyone votes for the forum each day, we can climb up the listing, & show everyone that the X-Trail does rock the world.

We have a meet up in October this year so check the events and meet ups section for further details and your more than welcome to come along!

If you do not mind me asking are you north or south of Brisbane and my partner and myself like the way you have stated you take the secondary roads and maybe one day we can catch up over coffee and we can show you the roads we consider less traveled!

Regards Scot

Re: 'nother Brissy Exxy

I am having a horrible time trying to add an avatar to my User ID. I want to select a photograph of our X-Trail from a number of pictures stored in our ZOOMBROWSER photo file.

So far, no luck. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Sometimes I feel like a troglodyte caught in a time warp!!!

Re:

Glen,

Please use the forum test section for this and we can help you out there.

Any image you want to use on the forum needs to be hoested externally, so it is a good idea to go over the forum guides section the links to which are included in the welcome post above.

"Troglodyte to Earth..."

With the loving assistance of my wife, I dutifully followed all the steps you so kindly set out in the Forum Test section, as well as following the PHOTOBUCKET instructions. We managed to get the picture we wanted saved and into our PHOTOBUCKET account, but it resisted any effort to become my avatar.

The best I managed was to have a "red X" display within the text of a new message!!!

I'm about to give up. Thanks for trying to help me.

Glen

Sorry Glen, I can't see any test messages of yours in the test section and I can't help you with something I can't see. Please proceed to do your first attempt at posting a photo and I will guide you on how to fix it in the test section.

Re: 'nother Brissy Exxy

Dear Leader Jalalski...

Praise be to the heavens...I don't know how you did it, but you managed to drag me kicking and screaming into the 21st century...I now have my avatar connected to my profile. Thank you so much for your help...but, more importantly, for your patience.

The picture in my avatar is one photo from a 6 or 7 shot sequence, and I now wish that I had attached all of them in a slide show fashin so that there would be a continuing sequence of our X-Trail entering the water and blasting through it.

Oh well, maybe next year...

Thanks again, J...Glen

Re:

Hi Glen,

I can do that for you too and it will be an animated avatar like the one I have, you will need to email me all of the sequence photos and I will get them combined in one file.

Anyway mate, don't get bogged down in this stuff too much and concentrate on researching things relating to your exy instead emoticon
