fixing idle speed questions

gday guys,

i noticed since buying my exy the idle has always been pretty high. so i did a search and found how to fix it on here (THANK YOU!). well it worked (i think). once warmed up my exy was idling around 1000-1100 in park. this has taken it down under that now. what i wanna know though, is how do i know its at 700 plus or minus 50? ive noticed there are two shorter lines close together between 0 and 1000 on the tacho. are they the idle spot marks? if so, its now sitting on the high end of those marks. is this correct? if not, is this procedure one that i can do more than once to fix the problem? its just that i want to pull the intake top off to check my butterfly screws are loctited and ive read that ill have to reset the idle speed again after it.

cheers!

Re:

Its a good idea to list details of your Xy below so people out there know which make and model you have.
If its idling about three quarters the way to 1000rpm, its pretty close and sounds to me like its on the money.

Re: fixing idle speed questions

one more question, are they meant to idle around 1000 until warm? cause that what mine does. seems when i start it, it revs up and comes down to 1000ish then once its warm it drops back down to normal idle. is this what they all do?

Re:

Yep, most cars will do that untill they reach a certain temperature and then drop to idle when its ready.

Your revs are normal for a T30 model.
