Re: Burst turbo hose

Don't know what happened to my original msg??

Anyway, I'll try again.....

Fat rubber hose from turbo to intercooler, the one clearly visible with hood open, has a kinda 90degree bend in it, has split open! Main Nissan dealer here in Ireland wants 120euro. Any other option open to me?

Did a temporary repair with lots of duct tape and cable ties as reinforcement. Lasted about a day - now makes the most horendous farting sound through a tiny tear in tape!

Please help,
George Harrison,
Ireland.

Re: Burst turbo hose

Hi all,

Had my diesel in for its 80,000km service yesterday, and mentioned to them that there was oil leaking from that top intercooler hose, hoping to spark some discussion about the oil separator issue.
Anyway they came back to me with the verdict that the hose was actually damaged and needed to be replaced.
So they ordered it in and today I had it installed.

My original hose looked very much lick a normal radiator hose, black rubber. The new hose is a grey (oil resistant?) material with a piece of wire that winds around it (for strength I imagine).
I have also discovered that newer models have the new grey hose on them from new, so they must have improved it at some stage.

There has not been any change in performance with the new hose, but hopefully I won't have any problems now with the new improved version!!

Re: Burst turbo hose

Just over the 50,000 km mark in the T31 and it went into limp mode on Monday. Drove straight to the dealers who diagnosed a split hose between the turbo and engine. Was replaced this morning under warranty
