Re: Exy Insurance Cost Comparison

I had my Liberty insured with Budget Direct. It was stolen and burnt. They paid me significantly less that what it was worth and refused to insure me again. They are fine unless you make a claim.

posticon Re: Exy Insurance Cost Comparison

GIO at $650 in NW Sydney, however only got this by NOT renewing existing policy, but taking out a new one on-line (and declaring already a GIO customer!) which saved 10%.
The "Agreed value" insured was set a bit higher than Market Value, Protected NCD, Hire car and glass cover options selected.
That was it, until I lifted the restriction on drivers under 25 to allow my son to put his "L" plates on the X-Trail, when it went back up by 10%.
Those in other states need to consider that in addition we have the CTP Greenslip in NSW, which I also have with GIO and helped with their discount.
Other quoted obtained elsewhere (AAMI, Budget, Virgin, etc) were $200-400 higher.

Re: Exy Insurance Cost Comparison

I didn't have to change any of my insurance details when my son was on his L's only when he got his p's. They said on his L's he was being supervised and covered under my normal policy. That was with RACQ.

Re:

Sorry Jalal, I did a search for Insurance and ended up in that other thread .... emoticon

I realised it had to be related to depreciation, but my premium hasn't depreciated by @ 7% ...
Would it be fair to expect the cost of the policy to go down by more than the 40 cents that it did.

What do you guys do in this situation, increase your premium to keep up the amount of agreed cover that you want or is that out of the question from the Insurers point of view?

Re:

Shop around Dave, the insurance premium will never go down emoticon

Other insurance companies may value your car higher and offer a cheaper premium but to compare apples for apples you must look at the inclusions and exclusions of each policy.

Re:

mine is about $48 a month with shannons. we have my xr8, my xr6 , my datsun and our home policy with them as well so that counts.
x-trail is insured for agreed value, our choice of repairer regardless, and we have unlimited use of it.

It's still a Datsun
