road & off road tyre pressures

Hello,

I read in another post that "There is a 'sweet' spot for sand work depending on your tyre type/size" I was wondering if people could list their tyre pressure preferences for their tyre type, size and terrain type.

I thought this might helpful reference guide for beginners like myself, as a starting point to find what works best for their driving style. I couldn't find a thread for this when I searched, if there is one can u link it and/or delete this.

I went as low as 8 psi for sand the other week. Using the stock 17" rims and tyres.
The taller the tyre side wall, the less you need to drop pressure as they bag out nicely. Smaller rims allow for taller side walls.

I wouldn't go any lower than 8 psi. 1. you risk rolling the tyre off the rim. Done that. 2. You really don't want to drive more than 1km or so on road before you pump them up. Max speed would be ~40km/hr.

Brand: Goodride (Westlake) SL369 AT 6 Ply
Size: 225/70/16
Road: 28psi
Off-Road: 17psi (18psi was still a bit too hard)
Mud: Prob 15psi
Sand: Given the above, prob try about 12psi, maybe down to 10psi, but gee, that's getting low. (I don't like going under 10psi without rim locks).
