Car stalling
04 exy 65K kms 2.5 auto
Something strange happens every time I go past a particular street in front of this particular restaurant, check engine light comes on, idle goes down to +/- 500rpm and nothing happens when I hit the gas. To rectify this problem have to pull over, turn the engine off and start it up again, the overdrive (O/D Off) light flashes on and off and everything is back to normal. This has happened 4 times already, its getting creepy and annoying lol. I have posted this re-occurrence HERE .
Any inputs or ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Re:
Hey Hendra,
I think this post should go in the "Jokes" section under X-Files LOL
The restaurant could be testing a secret weapon

Re: Car stalling
Thanks alot Kev
Do you have any idea why it just goes into limp mode randomly for no reason?
Thanks

Re: Car stalling
You need to determine all the conditions it happens ...
- just infront of this particular shop
- is there a bump or ridge causing a shock ?
- is there a change in road surface ?
- does it happen day or night and at different ambient air temps ?
- do you always drive past this place about the same number of minutes after starting the Xtrail ?
It seems like some bump causing a possible loose connection or faulty solenoid component in the auto-trans from operating correctly.

Re: Car stalling
yes just in front of that shop/restaurant
no ridges/bumps or changes in road elevation, it's as flat as kiera knightley
the place is about 15-20 mins from my place, its about mid way from where i'm coming from/to
it happened to me during day and night.
regards =)
