Re: Your car after your Xtrail.

I did more than window shop, then kicked myself when the Titanium pack came out until I looked at what you got for your money. The Frontier style roof bars look great if you fork out the extra for the Nissan canopy but nothing bolts to those tubes easily. I'll stick to the last of the 2008's I got and use the cash I saved for "Jalal mode" (Phillipa's phrase not mine)

See here for more details

Nice rig Alan. Great what you've done to the Navara with that money you saved emoticon Difficult not to catch the "Jalal mode" bug reading all the mods on this Forum! Look forward to seeing what you do next in the Members Rides thread emoticon

Trading down was one of the best decisions - from a 2004 NP Pajero (sorry Geoff! But it was a petrol and drove like a bit of a pig..) down to the '02 Exy "Beast". Couldn't be happier!

Hubby drives a 2008 Holden Rodeo for work, and if we had to get another 'family' car we'd go for a Prado (diesel, manual). Would've said Pathfinder but last time I checked they don't come in a manual emoticon Someone correct me if I'm wrong! emoticon

Yeah the NP Pajero petrol is a fuel gusler. My brother in law has one. The Diesel is a bit of a noisey truck, but you get used to it. I find the Pajero (Diesel) and Xtrail (petrol) use about the same amount of fuel.

Definately, if you are going for one of these next level up 4wd's like Pathfinder, Pajero or Prado, you must go diesel. I have feeling Mitsibushi is phasing out petrol paj's.

Absolutely! Would never buy a large 4WD in petrol again (it averaged 17L/100km emoticon). Hope you're enjoying your Paj - for ride comfort and space (particularly in the back seats - leg room), and of course getting you far off-road they weren't too bad emoticon
Not sure if you've done anything to it as yet, but I found an ARB Old Man Emu set of springs and Nitrocharger shocks made it an absolute weapon for handling and improved ride off-road. (Also, when I got the ARB steel winch bullbar put on the front, the standard springs didn't stand up to the extra weight very well at all ).

I have researched the 2009 Murano last night and I really liked what I have read so far emoticon

Being addicted to technology and gadgets, it certainly got my attention with the cool features included in it, but more importantly, the power it has emoticon

She's packed full of goodies and the power is quite respectable......I particularly like the fact that you'd never get a cold rear-end in that car emoticon
I've got fitted black sheepskin covers in the Exy and they're where it's at emoticon Are seat heaters a desirable gadget really??? I guess when in Rome....

I know this is a thread talking about the car after your exy, but I do feel a bit guilty with all this emoticon over other vehicles.......

Re: Your car after your Xtrail.

For those interested in moving up a size in the 4wd world, the new Mitsubishi Challanger is due to be released by the end of the year. It shares the same chassis and new high performance 2.5 L turbo diesel engine. It will be interesting to read the reviews once released, i'm pretty sure it will give the pathfinder a run for it's money being a direct competitor as sizes are quite similar. If it looks the goods then may think about a second hand one in a couple of years when the exy may be a bit small for the growing kids.emoticon

Re: Your car after your Xtrail.

I know everyone will think I'm crazy as I have swapped the XTRAIL (Best car I ever owned) for a 06 BF Falcon (Most average car I have ever driven) The reason is that I got the Falcon as a company car , I kept the exy for about 7 months after getting the Ford but have barely done 500km's in that time so economics dictate it must go, plus they tell me company cars are pretty good offroad anyhow Ha Ha. I have a 93 patrol with full suspension mods so the offroad activities are still covered but will genuinely miss the XTRAIL as my daily driver and holiday tow vehicle. Hopefully the young couple who bought her will have the same great troublefree run out of it that I did.
Should the company car not work out for any reason though, a new Pathfinder looks very tempting !.

Greg (X-748) I had a 2004 White ST Man_ Cooper H/T's_GME UHF_Front tow hooks, currently no 4x4 but when purchased it will be a Nissan !
