posticon Wax melted into windscreen vent/ demister- 2007 ST

I left a bar of surfboard wax on my dash on a hot day and it’s melted through the demister. Am I running the risk of any serious damages here? Any thoughts on how to clean it out, I can’t seem to be able to remove the plastic guard for the vent. Cheers
