Oil change

Good day! Is synthetic oil better than regular motor oil for my 2005 Xtrail 2.0 liter? Thank you very much!

Re: Oil change

What type of 2.0 engine do you have ? Petrol or Diesel ?

Please use the site search to find existing discussions on your topic.

Searching for Engine Oil came up with this thread on Best oil to Use so please post followup questions in there.

Re:

I use Penrite 5W-30 for one change at the beginning of winter, and 5W-40 for the other 2 (1 spring, 1, at the end of summer), as summer is long and hot here in Oz. But if I don't use it much, the spring oil can last till Autumn.

They get a bit worn at age, mine is at 200k so need a bit more than normal TLC.

Synthetic only matters if you want to increase time between changes, but should never be done with a small sump and filter like the QR25DE's. False economy to try to save on <4L worth, better to keep the changes up to stop the buildup in the filter and keep contamination in the oil low.
