Was it hard to swap the switch? Expensive to buy the ‘kit’? What was in the box?nondisclosed_email@example.com (roid)Fri, 11 Sep 2020 13:47:51 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2097775,from=rss#post2097775https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2097775,from=rss#post2097775I bought the fog light kit from Nissan for my 2010 st. Just plug in the fog lights and swap over the stalk. I didn’t have to do anything with a relay. nondisclosed_email@example.com (senior12)Sun, 09 Aug 2020 15:43:52 +0000 Re: fog/driving lightshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2097770,from=rss#post2097770https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2097770,from=rss#post2097770Best thing is to go to a wreckers or pick&pay yard and find yourself a Ti Xtrail where you can take off the light stalk and plug it into your Xtrail instead of your existing one.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Sat, 08 Aug 2020 20:22:21 +0000 Re: fog/driving lightshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2097767,from=rss#post2097767https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2097767,from=rss#post2097767Yes, the wiring for the front fog lights is all in-situ. Like most car manufacturers, Nissan found it cheaper to make one wiring harness for the whole range of X-Trails, rather than several different harnesses. You don't need a sparky to do the job but you will need to buy the fog lights, remove the blanks in the bumper and fit the lights. Then plug-in a light relay. As I recall this goes into a vacant relay mount under the hood, in front of the driver. "Where the hell is the switch" you ask. Unfortunately, you'll need to buy and fit a Combination Light Switch. This replaces the existing parker/headlight switch and has a second rotating switch for the front fogs. The lighting switch must be in the 1st or 2nd position (parkers or headlights) for front fog lamp operation. Nissan will be horribly expensive for these parts, so my suggestion is to find a wrecker who has X-Trails. Or try Amayama. They stock parts for the whole X-Trail range.
