Unfortunately there is no flashing relay unit in the T31 like you might typically be used to. Flashing of indicators and hazard lights is all controlled by CAN communications from the BCM (Body Control Module). The "ticking" sound you hear is actually a small buzzer integrated into the dash cluster gauges in parallel with the indicator lamps.
You should be able to get T10 LED globes with built-in resistors which will stop the hyperflashing you refer to.

Seems like you're onto the size OK. In any case the User Manual should have a section on bulb sizes and wattages.
