Binoculars ??

A year ago I purchased a 2009 X-Trail dCi. This vehicle is certainly a learning curve for me compared to my previous car. Naturally the first chore that I did after arriving home with the vehicle was to clean the inside. Upon clearing out the glove box, I came across new small binoculars. They were so well disguised in the globe box that I am not sure if the previous owner new they were there. This is no doubt a Nissan product as the glove box has a special slot made for the retention of the binoculars. Has anyone else received binoculars in their glove box?

The car also came with two cargo drawers which I thought to be an excellent idea and had no trouble filling the drawers.

Re: Binoculars ??

Never heard of any xtrail that comes with binoculars, very interesting. However, Barska (a sport optics company) does have a range of binoculars called X-Trail.

As for the cargo drawers, the driver side drawer comes standard with the car and the other one is an optional extra. I guess the previous owner must have paid for the extra one. emoticon

Re: Binocular Location

It is unusual where the binoculars are hidden, but they are definitely for the Nissan as the colour is the same as the vehicle. It is also clear as previously stated, that the previous owner who purchased the vehicle from new had no idea about the hidden binoculars, nor did the Car Trader. Here are some photos...

Re: Binoculars ??

Yep. I bought my ST in 2013 and had the same experience. Opened the glovebox while checking-the-car-out after delivery, and found identical binoculars.
Mine are in a black (plastic?) bag with a red horizontal stripe on the fold-down flap.
They're gold in colour and have 10x25UCF written on them.
On the focus wheel they have 10x25UCF 5.6' 96M/1000M in white.
Also inside their bag is a paper instructsional sheet entitled L8208 10x25 compact binoculars, and a yellow lense cleaning cloth.

Re: Binoculars ??

G'day Kev,
My ST has no "Anniversary" nor "Special Edition" badge-work, but the dealers' salesman was a little confused at the time by the extras which were fitted...floor mats front and rear, GPS with 3 years free map updates and reversing camera, front fog lights, and $1,500 factory rebate.
So I'm guessing that it is some kind of "Special Edition" but I've never actually followed this up.
