Red Coolant

Hello again from Jimbr.
I bought this 2007 T30 Xtrail a couple of weeks ago with 170,000 Kms, on it it appears to have been well looked after with some useful maint., records. The coolant looks very clean it was replaced Sept 2017 ,28000 kms ago. Having read some posts on coolant issues I tend to stew over issues , would this be a Nissaan Coolant? A lot of coolants are green. Should this be now replaced ? I get worked up over coolants , in some cases you can get bad reactions changing coolant types . My questions are these, is the coolant due to be changed, what would this red coolant be ? Should I keep using this red coolant if so what is it and is it readilly available?
Kind Regards.Jimbr

Re: Red Coolant

I recently got the coolant replaced in our T31. I just got the workshop to do a full system flush and they used 3L of the stock Nissan coolant concentrate. Just come back from a 1200km drive and no issues at all emoticon

Re: Red Coolant

Always best to use the genuine Nissan coolant because of the mix of alloys in our engines.
Just check with your nearest dealer what the coolant should be and if you are capavle enough to do the flush and change yourself then get some, otherwise have the dealer do it for you.

Re: Red Coolant

Thank you hrtpaul and again RevheadKev for your replys yes I guess I will have to address the issue.
The point is it could be the genuine stuff and it has not been in there very long and looks very clean. I would be capable of doing it but I live near a water way and can't just drop it out, there are always spills and it would end up in the creek and into Lake Illawarra . Even if I managed to collect it all and the after flush. I would not be able to dispose of it in a suitable envioremental way.
Regards Jimbr.
