P0350 code

P0350 code

Hi

I have a 03 x trail with a p0350 code recurrence.

I have replace
Coil pack
Cam and crank sensors (after car stalled and error code for sensors detected)
Sparkplugs gap checked prior to installing.
I replaced the coil pack as the car was running rough and misfiring and stalling

I cleared the codes using the on board dianosic.

I have checked the harness as per the manual for
Fuel rail
Tp
Cam, crank, and knock sensor
Iginition system

All have ckeck out as per manual spec.

I clear the code and take the car for a drive without any rough runing misfires or stalls.
The car purrs. I can let it sit for an hour idling no issue. When i turn the engine off the next time i turn it on within 3 secands of ignition the error code returns.

The car does not have the pick up when you excellerate like it use too but it is still a smooth ride.

Could it be an issue with the ecm or am i missing something small.

Thank you
Leanne

Re: P0350 code

Hi Leanne,

Did you replace ALL coil packs or just one and which one ?
Each spark plug has its own coil pack mounted ontop of the spark plug tube.

The code refers to a bad primary/secondary coil circuit problem.
Possibly you may have an intermittent wiring fault in either a connector or the wiring to one of the spark plug coil pack connectors.

Re: P0350 code

Hi Kev

I replaced all 4 coils and plugs. Making sure the gap were correct before instaling plugs. . I have run a dianosic using a multi meter to check the wire harness for continuity and voltage and grounding.

I only have mulimeter so not able to check coils functions waves. Need a silloscpe but the auto electrian that i got to checed the coils didn't seam to know wat the were doing. And left without checking the new coils were ok.

Leanne
I am stll waiting on my id number.

Re: P0350 code

Do you notice any hesitation or misfire under load like uphill ?
Is there a difference in idle when the code returns (and I assume you see the MIL come on) ?

Re: P0350 code

Hi kev

That is the issue. The car runs smooth with no misfire or rough idle. There does not seem to be any issues going up hills or loss of power. But in saying this i have not attempted any of the ranges around here. The car will just go into safe mode stall no prior notice . I replaced the cam n crank sensors and this stopped happening. There was rough running and misfiring so we did a service and replaced the coil pack and plugs. Ran great no codes. I had my air bag replaced about 2 week after that on recall. Car has not run properly since. If i clear The error code with my obd2 the code is present in my obd2 reader when you are driving even though no mil is showing. It only appears when you start the car again. Take about 3 to 4 srconds to show. Car run smooth.

Trying th buy secondhand ecm but do not know if the one i have access to will work as mine is a a56- s14 hitashi and the other is a56-s12 by jeg both state they are nissan, borh from a 03 xtrail manual. How do you tell if they are the same part.

Nissan told me they are neither of them there parts as there is no nissan 12 digit part number.

Thank you

Lea

Re: P0350 code

OK Lea, if it started happening just after they replaced the airbag then it seems like they may have knocked the connector on the ECU as it is located around the same area as the glovebox/passenger airbag.

Maybe you might like to check it is fully plugged in and clipped in with a visual check of all the wires to the connector to check none of them have been accidentally pulled out or broken. Try lightly pulling on each wire to make sure it is firmly in the connector.
