T32 K&N air filter UPDATE!

Hi all,
Not getting really good fuel economy from my '17 T32 series ll and after reading some reviews I'm toying with fitting a K&N air filter.
A couple of Q's
I believe the filter is a flat type No 33-5016. Do these just replace the original, ie no modification needed, just unclip, remove the old one and install it?
Has anybody done a fuel use test before and after?
Thanks for any help and advice

Re: K&N air filter??

Follow up FYI
Easy peasy, unclip the two clips on the sides of the air intake and the one on top of the air filter body, release the two clips on the filter body, remove filter, the K&N fits no problem. Reverse the procedure and go. I have a T32 series ll and disconnected the battery overnight to re-set the ECU, re-hooked it and started up and went for a drive. No loss of radio, nav or whatever.
After driving for a few days now my readout on Lts per 100km is averaging 8 - 8.5 around town and on a run up the freeway got it down to 7. This compares to around 10 Lts around town and maybe 9 on a long run prior to changing the filter.
Categorically, a big improvement!!

Re:

Hi.
I Also put a K&N filter. But my is a t31 2.0 cvt.
I did not make the reset of overnight disconnect battery.
Just put the new filter, turn on the car and wait about 20 minutes before go.
In the last weekend I made a small travel of 500km and the t31 appear to be much more responsive in freeway.
The averaging is 9L/100km. The car has 135K km.
Here some photos.
Very easy to change the filter.
The old filter was verryyyyyyy dirty!

Re:

I have also got myself a K&N filter for my 2018 2.5 Xtrail.
How ever I have only had the car a few weeks now so I will put a few more tanks
of juice thru it to gather a bit more data before I make the change
so I can see the difference.

Am also hoping to get a bit more responsiveness out of this as well as I
am still getting used to this CVT auto .
