posticon Inability of Revving & MIL On T31 DCi

I'm sure my problem relates to one of a couple of previously identified faults but I can't find the exact same info in previous posts so I will await some inpuit from those in the know on the following;

Was parked at Airport for 8 days then on highway at 110kmh when SET light started flashing when trying to use Cruise Control. At this point noticed car will not rev easily (or almost at all) above around 2500rpm. Can still achieve 120kmh top speed. No MIL initially.

Have cleaned EGR and yes it was filthy.

Yes I have small amount of oil spatter on air filter and traces of oil in intake piping.

Have tried ignition/accelerator method to get into diagnostic mode to no avail. I have ordered a OBDII scanner.

I have not replaced Fuel Filter since Nissan capped servicing expired around 150000km. Car now at 217000km.

I have a new fuel filter coming.

Occasionally the car will rev freely and drive like normal (2% of time) but MIL stays on.

Car idles perfectly around 840-900rpm.

Fuel consumption usually around 6.8-6.9hwy and is still at 7.0all.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Your flashing Cruise Control lamp could be a clue.
If it flashed slowly then it could be cooling system temp too high.
If it flashed quickly then it could be something wrong with the Cruise system or sensors.

As a check, have you had the 4WD in Auto mode and checked if the 4WD lamp (not 4wd auto lamp) flashes or stays illuminated ? This could indicate a wheel ABS sensor being faulty.

Hi Kev,

Thanks for the feedback.

It is the SET light that is flashing....am I correct that this is the light you are also referring too?

I have not tried the 4WD trial either which I will do. Would this effect the car in the manner which is seeing the car struggle to rev over 2500rpm?

Many thanks!
