T31 inner CV boot issues

Hi all
My T31 diesel 6 speed manual needed a new inner CV boot. So I took it all apart and got the whole shaft out, as I could not seperate the inner shaft which goes into the transfer case apart from the outer shaft.

1 how do you ge these apart?
2 having to refill the transfer case with oil, what grade and where is the hole to get it in?
3 once I have the 2 halves of the shaft apart, is there a cir-clip or similar holding the tribearing from coming out on the inner part of the outer CV?

Re: T31 inner CV boot issues

Hi,
Once you take the boot off the cv with the half shaft, there is a simple circlip to remove and the 'tribearing' can slide out. I marked which way it slid/ came out of the half shaft just in case its balanced. Then there is an outward opening circlip on the end of the shaft to remove and the tribearing slides off the end of the shaft. I also marked this on the splines for reassembly, and take note which way it comes off the splined shaft. Then its just a case of cleaning it all up, lining up your marks, lubricating the rollers and putting it back together. I left my half shaft in, but from memory its 80/90 gearoil.... check the fuel and oil section to be sure. The refill plug is on the drivers side of the transfer case, its a 10mm allen key.
