Another from Brisbane

I'm Shane from Brisbane.

I have a manual 2004 T30 series 2 with the QR25DE with 320k on the clock. It is in need of a new clutch and timing chain/balancer chain. Ill also do a complete engine rebuild while I'm at it.

I did have a manual 2010 T31 with the QR25DE with 130K.

I also have a 6 speed auto 2012 T31 with the M9R with 160K. Which is having a little issue since I got it. But that will be posted shortly.

Hi Shane,

Let us know how you go with the rebuild. Will you be doing it yourself ?
There is a great thread on here from one of our members in WA who rebuilt his T30 engine if you need any guidance.

Re: Another from Brisbane

Yes I will be doing it myself.

About 10 years ago I was looking into changing my Z32 300ZX to manual and one day on the drive home from work I shortly discovered the auto had popped its input seal. Was lucky to make the 30 min drive home. So that forced the upgrade.

Few years later the 15 year old twin turbo engine needed a rebuild VG30DETT. I already had a spare in unknown condition I purchased around 2004. So just from the workshop manuals and some online info about eliminating unnecessary complicated parts. Got the job done in about 2-3 years no thanks to financial and time restrictions.

I don't think the QR25DE has any reliability modifications that are required so shouldn't need much help outside the workshop manuals.
