Locked Tail Gate

I've owned a 2011 t31 for the last 6yrs. Excellent run.
The tail gate now won't open after locking, and has to be released from the manual lever inside the gate, very awkward.
Its been booked in with the Nissan approved auto electrical shop.They believe the problem originates from the remote locking control in the drivers door.
Anyone had a similer problem.

Kiwa,

I had a similar problem and ended up replacing the rear tailgate lock with a second hand one from a wrecker.
It has worked like new since then.

I didn't have any issue with electrics so I'm not sure if your issue is the same?

It might also just be an earthing problem since other members have reported wire breaks where the loom goes from the top of the tailgate into the body.
