2007 XTRAIL PETROL

Hi Guys ,

I have an XTRAIL 2007 Petrol Fuel Injected.
Engine starts & drives for approx 10 mins , then cuts out.
You can restart & then drive another 10 or so minutes before it cutsout again.

I have started a couple of times in driveway & it idles till running Temp , then will stall.
It will start again straight away .

Your thoughts Please ? emoticon

Re:

Check Possible dirty fuel tank - runs fine until the fuel pick up is blocked and the engine starves of fuel, then when it switches off, all the crud etc drops to the bottom and the pick up is free until it get blocked again..

Re: 2007 XTRAIL PETROL

I'd agree, it appears to be a fuel supply issue.
For me, classic signs of a blocking fuel filter.
It may the screen in the tank, or it may be the inline filter.

However I have just been reminded that this vehicle has a classic "cut-out" issue with the Crank and Cam sensors failing. Maybe investigate that?

2004 T30 series II, Ti for now.
JRR50 Pathfinder, QD32ETi Turbo Diesel, with 'lots o fruit'.
Was looking for a white or silver 2011-2013 T31 TL (Diesel) to "pimp out".
But now moving to a 2012 Jeep Cherokee KK CRD Limited.

UPDATE [sign in to see URL] Well Guy,s Started by putting fresh fuel in , Got excited as it ran Ok for a short period of time . however once again it conked out.

So , time to bite the bullet & buy Crank & Cam Angle Sensors .
Changed the Easy Cam angle sensor first , No Good vehicle cutout several times on a short run.

So last night did the Crank Angle sensor , wallah seemed to fix the Problem . emoticon

emoticon Yep that Old Chestnut !

Thank you Wiz Au, & CaptK for your input emoticon
