2002 xtrail cv shaft

Hi guys just finished doing my both front wheel bearing (4 hr job lol )
i noticed on my lhs front the cv shaft nut was lose and the split pin is like 5 mil away from the acutal nut is this a comon problem for them to come lose so put some thread lock on it maybe that helps.

Just really wondering what nut size is this shaft and can i buy a nylon lock nut for it as the split pin sitting that far away is useless

Thanks

Hi Danny,

Just go into your local Nissan dealer and ask him for a pair of the hub nut retainers for a T31 like I did.
The hub nuts on the T30 are exactly the same as the T31 and they will fit perfectly and allow the split pin to captivate the hub nut like you expect it should.

Re:

Hi Guys,

There is a whole thread about the dangers of the loose hub nut and the chances of it separating from the axle due to this Nissan design fault. It can be found ,offset=70]HERE along with the crown part number in one of Kev's replies in that thread.
