I've got a Series I. It was very easy once I knew to remove the plastic aluminium trim. Changing a bulb is really just a 5 minute job. For anyone else that has a X-Trail Series 1 T30 do the following to access the rear of the instrument panel to change bulbs: 1) gently lever off the silver plastic trim on either side of the instrument panel. I started next to the doors and it came off easily with a flathead screwdriver. 2) Remove the 2 visible screws. These hold the sunshade part of the instrument panel cover in place. Just grab the top of the sunshade and pull it towards you rather than trying to lift it up. 3) You will now be able to see 4 screws that hold the actual instrument panel in place. Remove these and gently manoeuvre the instrument panel out. There is no need to disconnect the electrical connectors if you are just changing bulbs. 4) My green 4WD mode (Auto 4WD) bulb had burnt out so I replaced it with a Narva Auto bulb Part Number: 47287BL 12V 1.7W T6.5mm Wedge. Autobarn had a pack of 2 for $5.00. I asked for an LED but they only had T5's (2 for $13) so wasn't sure they would fit properly. One question I have is I thought that there would be a bulb for each warning light or 4WD light but there appears to be only this one in the 4WD area. How do the other 4wd lights work?nondisclosed_email@example.com (saratoga)Sun, 24 Dec 2017 12:34:21 +0000 Re: T30 4x4 buttons questionhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095057,from=rss#post2095057https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095057,from=rss#post2095057You have to remove the aluminium trim on each side of the dashboard and you`ll see 2 phillips screws, one on each corner of the dash display. It`s easy. You can replace the bulb with T 4.7 LEDs. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Iulian)Fri, 22 Dec 2017 19:13:23 +0000 Re: Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095053,from=rss#post2095053https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095053,from=rss#post2095053quote:saratoga wrote: I've got pretty much the same problem. Any ideas on how to access the bulbs in the instrument panel? Is your 2003 T30 a Series 1 with rectangular rear bumper reflectors or Series 2 with round rear bumper reflectors ? We need to know as the dashes are different so you may wish to add it to your signature.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Thu, 21 Dec 2017 11:00:03 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095046,from=rss#post2095046https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095046,from=rss#post2095046I've got pretty much the same problem. It's not burned but it pops out of it's socket. The other 4x4 sistem indicators are leds. I will replace this one with an led. In fact, I will replace every bulb in the dash display with leds... Thanks!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Iulian)Sun, 17 Dec 2017 22:49:07 +0000 Re: T30 4x4 buttons questionhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095013,from=rss#post2095013https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095013,from=rss#post2095013The 4wd indicator with the 4 wheels is between the 4WD and 4WD LOCK indicators and it is a replacable globe, so if you do not see all 3 illuminate when you turn on the ignition then the globe has blown and you need to replace it. If the 4WD LOCK indicator goes off when you press the Auto button then yes it seems the button is working, just not the indicator globe.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Mon, 11 Dec 2017 09:44:26 +0000 Re: T30 4x4 buttons questionhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095011,from=rss#post2095011https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2095011,from=rss#post2095011My mistake, when I start the engine only the 4WD and 4WD LOCK indicators are working. I've never seen the indicator with 4 WHEELS. I will check the buttons but when the car is on LOCK and I press the AUTO button then the 4WD LOCK indicator turns off ....I think the AUTO button is working since it disengages the LOCK. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Iulian)Sat, 09 Dec 2017 21:44:13 +0000 Re: T30 4x4 buttons questionhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2094991,from=rss#post2094991https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2094991,from=rss#post2094991The 4wd auto indicator is a globe rather than an led so if it comes on when the ignition is first turned on then it is not blown. It seems there is something either wrong with the switch or the wiring such that it is not making contact when pressed. Can you confirm you are talking about the 4wd indicator WITH the picture of 4 wheels and not the $WD only indicator as they are different.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Mon, 04 Dec 2017 09:03:47 +0000 Re: T30 4x4 buttons questionhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2094988,from=rss#post2094988https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2094988,from=rss#post2094988Thanks! There are 3 buttons : 2WD , AUTO and LOCK. When I turn on the lights, only the AUTO and LOCK buttons are illuminated, the 2WD button never lights up, maybe the led inside is burned.        If I want to put the exy in AUTO mode, I push the AUTO button and nothing happens in the dashboard or with the buttons, I don't know if it changed from 2WD to AUTO......If I push the LOCK button, the 4WD LOCK indicator comes on, as it should.        I read the owner's manual and it doesn't say exactly what should happen in the dashboard when I press the AUTO button...When I'm driving I don't know if the exy is in AUTO or 2WD mode as in both modes it's possible for the 4x4 to be activated automatically, as it says in the owner's manual. Thanks in advance!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Iulian)Thu, 30 Nov 2017 23:06:50 +0000
