Pedders yay or nay?

Hi all,

As my suspension slowly appears to get harder and harder I've decided to get them checked out. I'd likely be looking at the most cost-effective replacement rather than any sort of radical lift.

I've got my regular mechanic, but wondered whether Pedders were any good at diagnosing/replacement cost, mixed reviews online!

I'm located in St Kilda area of Melbourne but don't mind travelling if shocks can be replaced whilst I wait a couple of hours and is a trustworthy outfit.

Can anyone help?

Cheers Jack

Re:

Pedders used to have a free check service where they would put your car on a machine and do a bounce and rebound test and it would give you a graphic print out. They would also check your bushes and other components etc and give you a report. Expect the report to show LOTS of work needed as this is how they convince unsuspecting people to spend up big..

Re: Pedders yay or nay?

What's the old saying?..."You pays your money, and you takes your chances."

Pedders, while having some great products are, after all, just another franchise.

I've had the misfortune of using their supply-and-fit service in the past, and I'd never use them again.

Why don't you look up a fair dinkum off-road shop down your way and have a chat with them. Ask all the questions you can think of, like warranty on parts and fitting, how firm a shock and strut combo do they recommend, what springs should go with their new struts/shocks, rubber bushes or neoprene, etc..

I like to deal with guys who actually own their shop, and know what they're doing, for my peace-of-mind.
