Eclipse AVN726EA - Failure to find GPS Signal

Hi,
We have a T31 Series 5 (Maybe 4) with the Eclipse AVN726EA GPS Unit and for some reason, it refuses to even attempt to find the GPS Signal and believes that it is 11:29 am and that the car's location is home (Merrylands) regardless of where it actually is.
When you program a route, it works fine and finds one from its current location (home) to wherever you programmed it.
We tried to contact Eclipse and they said to talk to Nissan so I was hoping someone here might know what to do or how to go about fixing it.
We haven't done the Software or Map Update and we've only had the car for about 6 months.

Re:

Hi Adrian,

I am having the exact same problem with the GPS in my Eclipse (mine is the same model Ti as yours). Sometimes I get to my destination and the damn GPS still hasn't picked-up any satellites to show me the actual route. I have to use TomTom on my iPhone as back-up. Other times it works perfectly fine and calculates the entire route as soon as I set the destination. It's driving me nuts but I think that ius the Eclipse way to force you to update the maps and fork out a fortune, as the maps I have are pretty old.

Re: Eclipse AVN726EA - Failure to find GPS Signal

Hi,
I'll try to update both the Software and the Map this weekend and let you know if anything changes.
I would imagine that updating the Software might work as it would reset the system beyond simply disconnecting the battery.
Thanks

Re: Eclipse AVN726EA - Failure to find GPS Signal

Hi ALL I have the same problem no GPS signal; except that I can set the time with GPS. I am pretty sure the maps are unrelated, but the software may be a factor. I am a newbie to X-Trail.
I've just bought a 2010 T31 Ti Wagon 5dr CVT 1sp 4x4 2.5i [Series III] with Eclipse # AVN726EA Sat Nav. I am trying to get a replacement GPS antenna. Does anybody know if perhaps GPS processing inside the unit can go crook?
Hi Adrian - did you update the software; any improvement?
Regards Dalmatian
