Immobiliser & key swap between T30 vehicles
Hi guys,
Although immobilisers are mentioned in a few threads, I can't see any related to this particular issue.
I'm doing up an unregistered T30 that only has 1 key, but one I bought that I'm wrecking out has 2 keys and 2 remotes, so I want to swap the immobiliser from the vehicle I'm wrecking into the one I'm registering to take advantage of having 2 keys available.
My question is do I simply have to swap over the immobiliser receiver on the ignition barrel, and the key barrel itself, or is there more involved electronically (swap ECU, etc) than what I'm thinking?
I hope not, as the one I'm wrecking out is a manual, and the one I'm registering is an auto, so the ECU's won't be compatible.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Syd

Re:
Each ignition immobiliser is programmed to the ECU of the car, so swapping the immobilizer over won't achieve anything and it would need to be programmed with your existing ECU, which means you might as well get a 2nd key cut and programmed by a locksmith.

Re:
There are definitely other things involved in adding the cruise control beside the steering wheel controls. There is the cruise control module which is also programmed to the ECU of the car. It will be much easier to add an aftermarket cruise control option that fiddling around trying to make the factory one work with your car.
