Fuel gauge readings

Hello, i recently bought a 2003 x trail ST, I'm having problems with the fuel gauge, when i fill it up and drive until empty I've only done 280ks and when i refuel it takes 40 liters. I'm not sure of the size of the fuel tank.
I had a tune and service done when i bought it, they replaced the air and oil filters at the same time. I think the fuel gauge is not working correctly, is there an easy fix for it?

Re: Fuel gauge readings

Your owner's manual in the back section will tell you the capacity of the fuel tank.
If you do a search of the forum for fuel sensor you should find plenty of information.
