Acceleration issue after engine change on T31, QR20

Hi,

I recently changed the engine qt20 on a 2001 Nissan xtrail. The engine replace was from a running car.

However there seems to be a problem, the engine seems to run fine and gears change as long as revs are under 4000rpm.

The moment I put full throttle  the revs get stuck on 4000rmp and the gear won't shift up (automatic transmission).

We have tried to swap the transmission cpu. But the results are the same.

Please assist.

Thanks

Sajid

Thread has been moved...

If you xtrail is a 2001 model, it will be the T30 and not the T31.

What you're describing sounds like your exy is going into limp mode which means the ECU have recorded an error and you need to hook up a diagnostic tool to the ECU to find out what the error codes are.

Many thanks for your assistance, we check with the diagnostic tool and there were no errors. What we did was also change the gearbox because it seem the engine we replace was from a Japanese model and my xtrail is a UK model

Re:

But I think there was a communication issue between the Japanese model engine and the UK model gearbox
