Re: T31 Air Conditioning Recall

BPxtrail
When we went to pick up the car after a scheduled service they said it was a service campaign not a recall. Maybe it varies by dealer. I thought it a bit strange. I did notice on the www.productreview.com.au - which is the first place I went looking after failing to find evidence of a recall, someone complained of having an aircon problem with an xtrail.

Re: T31 Air Conditioning Recall

Thanks for the reply, Possie.
Guess I'll just sit back and see if anything further eventuates. If I can't get any further info on a Recall, in the new year I'll take the car to an air-con expert, which is what the Nissan dealer would do anyway.

BPxTrail - can you please look at your Xtrail and help me with the side question I posted in my post - re the white box being visible in the front left side of the footwell? Would be much appreciated.

Re: T31 Air Conditioning Recall

Sorry Possie,
I've had a look at my passenger-side foot well, and there's nothing white visible in that area. It's all black plastic, from the centre console to the door trim.

Re: T31 Air Conditioning Recall

Possie,
I removed the left hand side panel of the drivers side foot well and there is a white plastic box of odd shape that I assume is part of the ventilation/AC system ducting etc. I only had a quick look at the Service Manual but haven't found the appropriate section of the manual that shows that part. Maybe have time later.

I bought my T31 Series 2 brand new and I have had every 6 month service performed at the Nisan Dealer. There has been no mention at all of any AC issue or recall. Might remember to ask them at my 78 months service next year.

cheers

You went above and beyond - taking off the panel - I only have 1/2 a panel there (it looks like it has a place for the front 1/2 not that it was sawed in half) - and the white plastic box is visible without touching anything. I thought it might be a/c related which is why I was suspicious. Your X-Trail is older than mine although still a T31 - maybe the a/c doesn't have the same problem. I called the service department re the panel and he went and looked at another one in for service and said it was the same. Mine is a January 2013 build and the original paperwork says Series 5.

I also looked at the doco from the a/c work. It says "Completed Outstanding Service Campaign P6310 on T31 X-Trail A/C Compressor Coil Replacement" Hope this helps.

BPxtrail - it was the driver's side - but thank you for looking!

The panel is simple to unclip. You may be able to find one at a wreckers.

Anyway some pics for you.....

Re: T31 Air Conditioning Recall

dpeek - Thanks Dave.

Doesn't look quite like mine but that may be because of age of car -
Does seem like the a/c specialists the dealer used might have a supply of covers though!

Here are photos of mine - next time I'll reduce the size further but it took me some hours to get this far!
