I called Nissan Customer Service and they confirmed it. However, my air con doesn't work well when I drove from Sydney to Tamworth last week. It was fine from Sydney to somewhere 30-50 kms from Gloucester, after which the back seat passengers started to feel warm even though there's ventilation for back seat passengers. The six vents in front was only blowing cool air even though I had the temperature dial set to the lowest, and fan speed at maximum. Air con mechanics at Gloucester and later Sydney both confirmed the air con is working fine, which it does after the car has stopped for at least an hour. Is this a mechanical problem, or a feature of the T31 air con? I've owned cars for over 40 years and this is the first time that I came across this problem!nondisclosed_email@example.com (kongteh)Wed, 31 Jan 2018 17:42:37 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2094712,from=rss#post2094712https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2094712,from=rss#post2094712Sep.'17 I also get a letter about this air con clutch recall. Call dealer and not aware but wanted the reference number which was next to name & address on letter. Then knew about the problem and booked in my 2013 T31 TL. I get a call that their is ANOTHER problem with air con. and do I authorise them to inspect which I told them "NO". Took to local mechanic and said it was low in gas only. My question is " Was this recall due to clutch and maybe gas leaking from compressor as it was working fine for so long". NEVER during services at Nissan did they say would you like us to check air con or was it part of warranty? If the loss of gas was from recall, they should have topped it up. OR, is this how they cover losses by creating additional faults so customer feel obligated to have other repairs done?nondisclosed_email@example.com (paul02)Thu, 05 Oct 2017 15:31:16 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2093085,from=rss#post2093085https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2093085,from=rss#post2093085I've just phoned them too. My VIN is within the affected range yet the dealer didn't say anything when I have done the service last week. My Ti has a production date of May 2011. EDIT: I just called Nissan Customer Care and they said the VIN provided above is correct but not all of the vehicles in that range are affected by the recall, so mine is not impacted. They said all of the impacted vehicles would have received a letter by now.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Mon, 16 Jan 2017 08:35:35 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2092995,from=rss#post2092995https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2092995,from=rss#post2092995I'm guessing this applies to 2011 Series 4 T31s, made somewhere in the first three quarters of the year. Our records show that your Nissan X-Trail T31 with VIN etc is affected. Nissan will perform the required repair to your Nissan X-TRAIL T31 free of charge etc. Can be done at any Nissan Dealership. If you have any queries ...Nissan Customer Service Centre 1800 035 035 and select Nissan Motor Company Option 2 I just called the service centre at my dealer and confirmed that this is the same as the compressor - apparently the Clutch Control is part of the compressor. Hopefully some of you will have received this letter too - or your vehicle is unaffected. I thought it might be a/c related which is why I was suspicious. Your X-Trail is older than mine although still a T31 - maybe the a/c doesn't have the same problem. I called the service department re the panel and he went and looked at another one in for service and said it was the same. Mine is a January 2013 build and the original paperwork says Series 5. I also looked at the doco from the a/c work. It says "Completed Outstanding Service Campaign P6310 on T31 X-Trail A/C Compressor Coil Replacement" Hope this helps. Maybe have time later. I bought my T31 Series 2 brand new and I have had every 6 month service performed at the Nisan Dealer. There has been no mention at all of any AC issue or recall. After reading how a few people have had their T31 air-con compressors replaced, I made two phone calls to my local Nissan dealer, checked the Nissan website and the ACCC Recalls website. All of my investigations came-up with zero. Nissan dealer says they have not replaced any compressors and know of no compressor issues, nor recall. The Nissan website dose not mention issues, replacement, or recall. And finally, there is no recall listed in the ACCC website. So, as I am having issues with my just-out-of-warranty air-con, the question still remains - how did you guys have your compressors replaced, apparently under a 'recall' and for free?nondisclosed_email@example.com (BPxtrail)Fri, 02 Dec 2016 10:37:11 +0000 Re: T31 Air Conditioning Recallhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2092631,from=rss#post2092631https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2092631,from=rss#post2092631I had my T31 serviced in late October and when we picked it up we were told there was a service campaign and we should bring it back to have the a/c compressor replaced. I too found no reference to it in a recall - and was advised that it wasn't a recall. Given they didn't charge, it sounds like a recall but maybe it is expected that a compressor should live longer than 4 years and maybe it is not a safety issue. Today I noticed that I don't have full panel coverage on the left hand side of the driver's footwell from the gear stick to the firewall. A white box is visible near the front (on the left). Can someone else please check their car and see if they have it too. I had never noticed this before and was wondering if it was related to this replacement which is how I came to this topic in the forum tonight.
