T31 Air Conditioning Recall

Wife booked in the X-trail today for its scheduled service.

Rings me up and advises me that Nissan have told her they need the car for an extra hour to perform a recall on the Air Conditioning.

I have yet to see this listed on [sign in to see URL], nissans site, or anywhere else for that matter?

Has anyone else had the same ?

Re:

So after getting the service report, all I can gather is that the following components were replaced as part of this "recall"

76881JG00A Grommet-Screw
926611VA0D Coil Assembly.

They did not explain to the wife really what it was for.

Re:

It if was a recall, they would have referenced a service campaign number in the invoice.

Did you get a letter about it Michael or was it identified as part of a scheduled service?

Re: T31 Air Conditioning Recall

I was informed about it when I was booking in.
It appears the petrol gets a new compressor and the diesel just gets the compressor cluch replaced.

Re: T31 Air Conditioning Recall

I had my T31 serviced in late October and when we picked it up we were told there was a service campaign and we should bring it back to have the a/c compressor replaced. I too found no reference to it in a recall - and was advised that it wasn't a recall. Given they didn't charge, it sounds like a recall but maybe it is expected that a compressor should live longer than 4 years and maybe it is not a safety issue.

Today I noticed that I don't have full panel coverage on the left hand side of the driver's footwell from the gear stick to the firewall. A white box is visible near the front (on the left). Can someone else please check their car and see if they have it too. I had never noticed this before and was wondering if it was related to this replacement which is how I came to this topic in the forum tonight.

Thank you

Re: T31 Air Conditioning Recall

Well, I'm rather confused.
After reading how a few people have had their T31 air-con compressors replaced, I made two phone calls to my local Nissan dealer, checked the Nissan website and the ACCC Recalls website. All of my investigations came-up with zero.
Nissan dealer says they have not replaced any compressors and know of no compressor issues, nor recall.
The Nissan website dose not mention issues, replacement, or recall.
And finally, there is no recall listed in the ACCC website.
So, as I am having issues with my just-out-of-warranty air-con, the question still remains - how did you guys have your compressors replaced, apparently under a 'recall' and for free?
