Windscreen Stone Chips (Bullseyes)

Hi all,
Whats the best way to repair a windscreen stone chip. I have used a repair kit on another chip before, but it was still visible. It didn't bother me as it was not in the line of sight. I copped a chip recently that is directly in the middle of the passenger side screen. It's about the size of a 5 cent coin. Any recommendations on the best product to use or do the professionals do the best job?

Thanks.

Re: Windscreen Stone Chips (Bullseyes)

You won't be able to repair it completely so that it is not visible as the tiny micro cracks don't get filled with the injected resin.

The professionals do the best job as they have a high vacuum head they place over the chip to evacuate as much of the air they can first before forcing the resin into it and then grind and polish the excess filler flat with the surrounding screen to make sure the wipers don't bounce over a high spot.

Most insurances will cover the full cost of a repair if you have glass replacement in your policy.
