Shark fin antenna for T31 S5 Exy

Hi all,

I have searched the forum for the answer, but come up empty.

What I am tying to achieve is a very low profile shark fin antenna where the stock antenna is at the center of the front on the roof.

The issue I have come across after a couple of attempts is that the roof slopes on such an angle towards the front of the car that the shark fin does not fit flat. There is an approx gap of 5mm.
The shark fin just seesaws back and forth and will not adhere correctly.

If I force the fin down, the roof does give in, but returns to the original shape all the same.

has anyone else tried this?

My suggestion would be to get a plastic block and use a dremel to shape it to fit the gap then glue them both together.

Not a bad suggestion Kev，I hadn't thought of that.

At the moment i have ordered a very flat unpainted fin that i believe should flex enough if i bake it in the oven first for a minute or so.

Will post some progress pics when i get the fin.

Be very careful putting it in the oven as some will have electronics in them to amplify the signal and the heat could destroy the circuitry. I know it gets hot on the roof in the direct summer sun but if this does not make it soft enough to shape then an oven temp needed to shape it would be far too hot.

Almost all my previous cars had them.
