My suggestion would be to get a plastic block and use a dremel to shape it to fit the gap then glue them both together.

Be very careful putting it in the oven as some will have electronics in them to amplify the signal and the heat could destroy the circuitry. I know it gets hot on the roof in the direct summer sun but if this does not make it soft enough to shape then an oven temp needed to shape it would be far too hot.
