2015 T32 Power windows and Spare tyre Questions

Hi Folks,
I recently bought a 2015 MYO ST 4 x 4 and am pretty happy with it.
A couple of nagging things though..

1. Power windows (on keyless ignition model) will not operate without the engine running - or am I missing something??
Pain in the butt if the windows are down afet turning car off.
On my older Camry I can turn off the engine and remove the key but the windows will operate until I exit the car. On the xtrail I have to turn the engine back on just to wind windows up. emoticon

2. Spare is a slim emergency only and the bay does not accommodate a full size (215) rim/tyre. Is it possible to fit a full size rim/tyre if the lowest cargo floor plate (plastic - not felt covered) is taken out? emoticon
Honestly I'd hate to take the x trail off road, get a puncture and try to get out of a jam with a dodgy skinny spare. Seems a bad idea from Nissan to fit these on 4 x 4 models? Especially so as the OEM Geolandars have pretty poor performance reviews.

Had a look for similar posts but no luck - so any advice is appreciated. emoticon

Hi Getfunky!

I am afraid you are right about first point.

Regarding 2nd, i think nissan did injustice to xtrail by giving a cheap spare tyre and lowering the ground clearance. I spent $500 extra and got a fullsize tyre. You can put a full size in and it raises the adjustable floor slightly, but nothing noticable. I wouldnt think of taking my car offroad with the slim one either.

Hope this helps,
Chait

Re: 2015 T32 Power windows and Spare tyre Questions

Good news.
I thought I had already tried this but if I hit the start button (keyless remember) without stepping on the brake pedal the engine will not start but the car will go into 'accessory' mode and the windows will work.

As for the spare, I'll try sizing up one of the existing wheels without the lowest floor barrier and see how I go. The screw down nut/bracket on the spare might just be long enough to take a full sized rim.

Any tips on finding a basic full size spare rim and tyre at a decent price?
