2011 Nissan Xtrail Ti Head Lamp High Beam H1 LED Conversions

Hi there,

Just wonder whether anyone has done an H1 high Beam Halogen to LED Conversion. If you have what kit would you recommend. I see many kits on the market.

I have read of car fires as result of cheaper kits bought from places like Aliexpress.

Also have been advised not to do it yourself, but have it professionally installed.

Vehicle Specs:

2011 Nissan Xtrail Ti
Low Beam Lamp: D2S HID Xenon Lamp (not touching these)
High Beam Lamps: H1 Halogen Lamp (LED convert these)

Any advice or recommendations on kits would be great.

Thanks,

Bazza

Re: 2011 Nissan Xtrail Ti Head Lamp High Beam H1 LED Conversions

Bazza,

I personally would install driving lights if you want better light on the open road or dirt track.

Failing this option a descent set of HID will do the trick.

Seeing as you already have the legal setup for HID lights the conversion takes approx 1hr to complete.

As a rule of thumb the guys selling HID conversion kits online for less than $60/pair I would stay away from.

On my previous car ((Holden Captiva LX) and I still don't know why I bought it...) I was able to convert the Low and high beams for $200.
The conversion it self took 4 hours as the lights are held in place by 3 screws and a clip (this was the only positive) the rest is a long story...

I am currently investigating the all in one HID bulbs for my exy. Still waiting on a response from the seller to see if they will fit behind the plastic housing.

Will let you know how I go.

Re:

Hi Bazza,

Given the very limited use of full beam, I left the halogen bulbs in my Ti and can't really see the benefit of changing them to LEDs, as you want to achieve good road illumination when you're using hi-beam and the LED bulbs will be bright but they won't reach as far as the standard bulbs do.

Like Tom said, invest in a good set of LED or HID spotties instead.
