Come to think of it, I can't clearly remember if it used to slide on that bracket or if there are bolts holding it in place, so check both options.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Fri, 15 Apr 2016 21:45:44 +0000 Re: What is this, please?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2091099,from=rss#post2091099https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2091099,from=rss#post2091099Thank you for the fast reply, much appreciated and now I know what it is, I have found more info about it. I still need to unbolt it, somehow, to remove the towbar. I assume there must be original bolt holes underneath where it attaches normally if no bar is installed nondisclosed_email@example.com (da houghsta)Fri, 15 Apr 2016 15:44:27 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2091095,from=rss#post2091095https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2091095,from=rss#post2091095Hi Ben, It's fuel evaporative canister. It's part of the EVAP system which prevents fuel vapours in the fuel tank from escaping into the atmosphere. The EVAP system traps fuel vapours from the fuel tank and temporarily stores them in that canister, so yep don't fiddle with it if you don't have to.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Thu, 14 Apr 2016 21:37:14 +0000 What is this, please?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2091093,from=rss#post2091093https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2091093,from=rss#post2091093Hi guys, I think this may be something I don't need to create a thread for, but since I don't know what it is, I have searched using descriptions but cannot find the answer, please let me know a redirect if possible. Backstory, my 2006 Xtrail has a factory Nissan tow bar installed since before I owned the car. Works well. But the actual removable tow bar ball section is stuck, corroded in place. I have tried to remove it a few ways, no joy. When offroading, I would much prefer to remove the ball and use a recovery shackle there instead. So i decided to remove the full bar in order to both install a new plug (factory one gets ripped off) and find a way to get the ball out. While looking at how it joins the body of the car, there is this small tank with an overflow pipe mounted on top of where the tow bar attaches to the body. I would have to remove this, but, what is it and is it important and should I not be fiddling with it?? Thanks! Bennondisclosed_email@example.com (da houghsta)Thu, 14 Apr 2016 21:29:40 +0000
