posticon T31 Speedo Intermittant Fault

Hi Friends...yes its been a while since I have been on here!

Firstly i'd like to say that my 2008 DCI is going well, haven't had any issues with it (touch wood) until today.

I was stopped at a set of lights and looked at the temp and realised that the tacho was idling correctly although the speedo was showing 40km/h. It was quite funny as I kept pushing the brake harder and harder before i finally realised that there is something wrong with the tacho

When I took off the needle stayed at 40km/h although then started to work as i was shifting out of 2nd gear.

I then did some testing and the needle intermittently sits at 40km/h when stopped. I did tap the gauge a few times (quite hard) and nothing. Once you go over 40km/h the needle works fine and from what I can tell it is accurate

Any suggestions?? ie is it the gauge or cable? is it better to take to a mechanic or someone else? dont really want to take to Nissan as they will charge both arms and a leg

appreciate your help
Samuel
