t31 purchase

hi all,

looking at purchasing a 2011 t31 diesel at the moment it currently has 130xxx km on it and some extras. I have asked about blowblack from the turbo, egr blockages and dpf issues which they claim has never occured. The vehicle is a very good price at 12000 but there isnt a complete service record, the seller claims he has serviced it himself and that is the reasoning.

is there any other common faults i should lookout for? had a good search on the forum and these seem like the main ones.

also what are your opinions on the buy

thanks in advance

Just traded in our 2013 corolla for the 2011 T31 dci, straight swap bar stamp duty and +$77 to move our insurance over.

Super happy with the upgrade, and fuel consumption so far is almost on par with the hatch!

Re: t31 purchase

Probably a bit late if you've gone ahead and bought the car, but I'd be asking to have it looked at by a third party (i.e. independent mechanic). If they baulk at that idea, you should baulk at the idea of buying the car.

Otherwise, if you did get the car, how's it going? (Sounded like a good deal if it was taken care of.) If not, are you still looking at getting an X-Trail or did you find something else?

Re: t31 purchase

I'd like to go back to the OP's question...
Is there a list of "known problem" things to look for when purchasing a T31 Diesel?

Like on my Dakar motorbike forum, we developed a "Things to look for / Must do when you buy one" page.

2004 T30 series II, Ti (now sold)
JRR50 Pathfinder, QD32ETi Turbo Diesel, with 'lots o fruit'.
2012 Jeep Cherokee KK CRD Limited is current ride.
Will be looking for a white or silver 2011-2013 T31 TL (Diesel) to "pimp out".
