So, trust what he's telling you then or get a second opinion from another mechanic.

Re: Engine gasket
You need to explain to us more about what they are saying.
Do they mean there is still a build up of pressure in the radiator hoses or something else ?
Are they saying the temperature is showing too hot or too cold or not at all ?

Re: Engine gasket
Both codes relate to the Intake Valve Timing Solenoid, not the valves themselves.
This means that the engine control unit cannot change the intake valve timing and could cause rough idling, poor starting or loss of engine power. It uses signals from the throttle position and the coolant temperature. The solenoid also uses oil pressure to change the valve timing based on signals from the engine control unit.
First thing is to make sure your oil and oil filter are clean and so no blockages to the solenoid.
Second thing is to make sure your temperature sensor and throttle position sensors are functioning correctly by testing the electrical signal from it with an electrical testing meter.
Third thing is to make sure the solenoid actuator rod is not sticking either by having it cleaned or replaced.
A google search for "Nissan error code P1110" would have found this information for you.
